Military Ball ("JSAMB")

The Joint Service Academy Military Ball will be celebrating its 34th anniversary on
Thursday, December 26, 2019.  This year, the Military Ball will be hosted by the West Point Parents Club of Greater Houston. This year's event will be held at Moody Gardens in Galveston. The theme of this year’s celebration is UNITED IN STRENGTH. Dinner will be followed by music and dancing. Tickets will be $65/person. Formal invitations will be sent out months prior to the event.

The Ball is a celebration to honor the commitment of the Cadets and Midshipmen of the five military academies from the Houston and surrounding areas. These dedicated men and women will soon be serving as military leaders and proudly representing the United States throughout the world.  We honor and celebrate these Texas men and women with a formal event which they can enjoy alongside their families and friends.

This year's speaker will be Drew Sloan, Class of 2002Drew served combat tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq as an Infantry officer in the 25th Infantry Division, US Army.  Since leaving the Army in 2007, Drew has focused his energies on understanding the nexus between climate change, clean technology, and national security.  He received a duel Masters in Business Administration and Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Business School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2010.  He is a 2002 graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point.  His time in service was chronicled in the 2008 non-fiction work, In a Time of War, by Bill Murphy Jr. It follows the first class USMA to graduate after 9/11.
